It all started at a New Year’s Eve / Birthday party hosted by Jack and Shay’s mutual best friends, Bryn and Alex.

Jack and Shay met for the first time, but didn’t really talk much - except for when Shay told Jack she thought wine tasting was bullshit (note: she has since walked this back.)

Fast forward a few months, Shay and Jack went on a magical cross country ski trip in the Methow Valley with friend Alex, Jack’s cousin Max, and his (now) wife Sarah, and it was love at first fall! (Jack fell, Shay did not.) Their first trip as a couple was to visit Max and Sarah in the San Juan Islands and it still holds a special place in their hearts.

Since they first met, they’ve filled their lives with new adventures, from skiing to bike modeling to marathon relaying, to making a big move together from Seattle to the Bay Area, and becoming parents of a mischievous and spirited pug puppy, Uni.

In the fall of 2020, Shay and Jack made a trek back to the Methow Valley where it all began, and Jack proposed overlooking the area where they first fell in love.

We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of our family and friends, in a place that means so much to us!
